The body responsible for issues involving football players has placed a transfer ban on Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) side FC Ifeanyi Ubah, the body announced in a statement.
In a post on their verify twitter handle The Federation Internationale des Associations de Footballeurs Professionnels (FIFPRO) listed the NPFL team among teams that won’t be able to sign players for the foreseeable future due to their failure to meet up with payment of salaries.
According to FIFPRO, the ban is coming as a result of their warning to footballer players in Africa last July on teams that they shouldn’t sign for and it mandated their union in the various countries where the clubs are based to help them recover the what is due to the players.
Moroccan side Chabab Rif Hoceima, Zambian side Lusaka Dynamos, Botswana side Black Forest FC and Zambian side FC Nkana are the other teams banned alongside FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
The Nigerian club is yet to respond to the post by the players union and this bring to two the number of Nigerian teams that have copped a ban from signing players following the ban on Heartland FC of Owerri by the League Management Company (LMC).
