The Anambra State Government recently mandated a closure of market areas and restriction of movement in the state for 14 days.
Meanwhile, a few masquerades who violated the order by the government, were nabbed by the state police command on Monday 13th, April, at Nkwo Uga, in Uga community of Aguata Local Government Area.
Furthermore, 29 persons consisting of medical staff, business partners and relations of the coronavirus index case in Anambra State have been quarantined and are waiting to be tested.
Dr Vincent Okpala, the state Commissioner for Health, revealed that from 8pm to 3am, the COVID-19 response team in the state searched for index case after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), contacted the government to reveal that a case has been registered in Anambra.
Additionally, he stated that the hospital where the index case was registered has been fumigated.
