The Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has expressed unhappiness over the news of the death of Alhaji Modu Sheriff, the father of former governor Ali Sheriff of Borno and the Galadima of Borno Emirate.
President Buhari’s message was delivered in an announcement by Malam Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, in Abuja on Thursday.
However, the president extended heartfelt condolences to the Borno State Gov, Babagana Zulum and the family of Sheriff.
Furthermore, the President also sympathized with the entire Borno Emirate Council and Shehu of Borno, on the death of their eminent son, a community leader fondly loved and respected by his people.
Additionally, President Buhari described the lost of life of his in-law and father-in-law to Halima, his daughter, as a personal loss to him, and prayed that the almighty Allah to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
Hence, he appealed to family, friends, and relatives who mourn the death of Alhaji Modu Sheriff, in the midst of the present challenges facing the country to also maintain social distancing, keep safe and healthy.
