In a announcement release this morning to POLITICS NIGERIA, the Presidency has announced the dead of Mallam Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to the President.
However, Abba Kyari had tested positive to coronavirus pandemic disease and had been receiving treatment. But he passed on Friday, April 17, 2020.
The funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
His life
Abba Kyari was a businessman, Lawyer and Politicians. Born in Borno state to a Kanuri family, Kyari graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Warwick in 1980. He also has a bachelor’s degree in law from Cambridge University and was called to bar in 1983.
He also posses a master’s degree in Law and participated in a Management development course in Harvard Business School in 1992 and 1994.
Kyari and President Buhari are very close friends. On March 24, 2020, Kyari tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from an official trip to Germany nine days before.
