Well, reports that surfaced over the weekend had it that the President Buhari ordered Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, his new Chief of Staff, to cancel all appointments and approvals made by his late Chief of staff.

However, the reports alleged that 150 memos were already signed without the President’s permission.

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, on reacting to the news on Tuesday, 26 May, 2020, revealed that the reports are false.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, also advised Nigerians to disregard the reports adding that the President has not given anyone such power.

Garba tweets reads;

“The attention of the Presidency has been drawn to media reports alleging that President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled a number of memos and appointments signed off by his former Chief of Staff. Not surprisingly, these reports have quoted unnamed sources.

“There is not a grain of truth in these reports and Nigerians should please ignore the insinuations behind them.

“President Buhari was duly re-elected by Nigerians in February 2019. He has not and will never cede to anyone else, that power and trust given to him by the Nigerian people.”
