In Kastina state, the 70-year-old man, Lawal Izala, who criticized President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Masari of Kastina state, for bad government has been sentenced to jail.
As the report was gathered, on Tuesday, he was sentenced to 18 months in jail by a court sitting in Katsina State.
Recall that Dickson blog had earlier reported that Izala and two others were apprehended last week for allegedly insulting President Buhari and the Kastina state governor, Gov. Aminu Masari.
They were all arraigned for encouraging disobedience to civil authorities and disrespect to authorities through humiliating statements.
However, the Katsina court found Izala guilty of 2 count charges of inciting violence and disrespect for civil authorities, and the sentenced him to 6 months jail term for the first charge and 1 year for the other charge.
Then, he was also given a bailout option of ₦10,000 for the first charge and ₦20,000 fine for the second offence.
Meanwhile, on speaking with some newsmen, he disclosed that he spoke out of anger, because when he traveled to the village, he found out that the bandits had his family members and 15 of his cows killed.
Well, he has now been freed after some people in the state paid the N30,000 bailout fees on his behalf.
