The Benue State police command has apprehended one Patrick Onoja Igah, a 26-year-old man, for allegedly raping a 7-year-old girl inside the 7th wonder church premises in Owukpa area of Benue state last weekend.
DSP Anene Sewuese Catherine, the spokesperson of the police command, who confirmed this to LIB, revealed that the suspect enticed the rape victim into the church premises where he molested her.
She said;
”It is true. The girl is 7-years-old. She has been taken to the hospital. The suspect is 26-years old. It happened when the girl went to buy something and the suspect lured into the 7th Wonder church where he raped.”
The spokeswoman also told LIB that the command is also on the case of Ediga Uja, another suspect who raped a 15-year-old teenage girl, Miss Ene, while she was returning from the farm in Otukpo town on 3rd June, 2020.
DAP Catherine went further to revealed that the suspect got the teenage girl by the roadside, beat her up, dragged her into the house, and then abused her sexually.
She also added that efforts are being made to nab the suspect who absconded the environment after committing the crime.
