One Nigerian teenage girl has been arrested for faking her own kidnap with her boyfriend in Ogun State.
The teenage girl, 17-year-old named Seun Adekunle, was apprehended with her boyfriend, 25-year-old, identified as Basit Olasunkanmi, after her mum, Bukky Adekunle, reported to the police on June 4th, 2020, that she sent her daughter to the Lafenwa market since Monday, 1st June, 2020 and since then, she has not returned home.
Mrs. Adekunle went ahead to reveal that she received a strange call two days later from an unknown person who claimed to have kidnapped her daughter and demanding for the sum of N500,000 as ransom to release her.
She also added that the caller cautioned her not to involve the police if she still needs to see her daughter alive. However, a technical and intelligence based investigation led the police to the hideout where the girl and her boyfriend were hiding and pretending to be with kidnappers.
