The cause of Nigerian legendary singer, Majekodunmi Fasheke, better known as Majek Fashek‘s demise has now been disclosed.
The Vanguard News reported that the music icon passed on after battling with cancer for almost one year.
His demise news was announced by Cynthia Morgan’s former manager, Joy Tongo and was confirmed by Uzoma Omenka, Majek Fashek‘s manager.
Omenka stated that he passed away at 11:45 pm on Monday, 1st June, 2020.
His manager also revealed that the iconic singer died in New York, and not in London where he was previously taking treatment.
As stated by Omenka, the doctors advised he should be moved close to his family, which is the main reason he was moved to New York where his family lives.
The manager added that the late singer has been separated from his family for 10 good years until last year September when they were reunited on his doctors advice that he should be close to his family.
Omenka said;
“We moved him from London to New York last September on the advice of the doctors that he should stay close to the family. Majek reunited with his family last year after 10 years of separation. He died in their company.”
However, the music icon, Majek Fashek, born March 7, 1963, was 57-year-old when he died.
The manager then revealed that the details of his funeral arrangement will be announced soon.
