Mourinho went further to say that he was proud of his player’s performances against their follow London club, adding that they now need to battle for the Europa League spot.

He told a post-match press conference after the game that; “The way the match was, everybody forgot that [about the less time to prepare],”

“They did everything I asked of them tactically and also emotionally. They played the game as a fan.

“We spoke about it not being a game for the fans to enjoy. That’s very important. Now we can fight for a Europa League position, and I’m really proud of them.”
