The legal representative of alleged cyber criminal, Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpuppi, Gal Pissetzky of Pissetzky & Berliner, has revealed that he has a good chance of beating the fraud allegations leveled gainst him.
Pissetzky, who talked to Punch on Thursday, July 9th, disclosed that he planned to put up “vigorous defense to get him out of the case.”
However when he was contacted, he told Punch that the suspect’s case would go before a jury.
In his words;
“There is always a chance, absolutely. That’s why they hired me and that’s why I am going to put up vigorous defense and defend him. I will give him good representation. He has a chance. In the United States of America, you have a jury system.”
When asked if he would consider a plea bargain with the system to reduce Abbas’ sentence, he stated that it would be a discussion between him and his client.
It should be recalled that Pissetzky told Forbes that the suspect was not guilty of the crimes.
“Absolutely not guilty of the charges they are accusing him of. (Abbas) was running a legitimate business and a very legitimate Instagram account and did not take part in any scam or fraud,” he said.

Ray Hushpuppi was nabbed by the Dubai authorities in a sting operation, alongside with his 11 gang members, he was alleged to have defrauded 1,926,400 individuals across from the world and stole about 1.6bn Dirham (N168bn).
