Ex-member of the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu has passed on. His demise was announced on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter by his former colleague, Senator Ben Bruce -Murray on Saturday, 8th August, 2020.
Bruce Murray wrote:
“I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID 19.. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.”
Well, there was tension on Saturday over the health condition of the deceased.
Sen. Kashamu who represented Ogun East Senatorial District from 2015-2019, contracted COVID-19 and had been battling for survival.
A source told our journalist that the government official cum business mogul had been hospitalised at First Cardiologist Hospital, Lagos state in the last couple days.
Kashamu was said to have tested positive for the dreadful pandemic disease and that his condition became worsened due to underlying ailments he is suffering from.
And efforts to confirm the story from the deceased’s family sources have not yielded results.
