“Police is my friend” - Naira Marley reacts to his nab and court appearance


Famous Nigerian singer, Naira Marley has reacted to his arrest and court appearance at an Abuja mobile court for flouting the Covid-19 safety guidelines after attending a show in Abuja.

It could be recalled, that the controversial singer had flown to Abuja on June 13th with his team for a concert at the Jabi Lake Mall.

It should likewise recalled that an Abuja mobile court yesterday, August 7, slapped a fine of N200k on the singer, for defying the Presidential Task Force rules on Covid-19.


Well, the prosecuting team hauled him to court on a 4-count charge.

In respect to this, the presiding magistrate, Idayat Akanni, ordered the singer to pay the sum of N50k on each of the 4-counts leveled against him.

Nevertheless, he was additionally mandated to publish a public apology to the Federal Government of Nigeria in a national daily newspaper of his choice.


Thus, Naira Marley born Azeez Fashola has now taken to his official Twitter page to react to his nab and court appearance.
