Actor turned politician, Desmond Elliot under attack for supporting godfatherism


Ace Nollywood actor turned politician, Desmond Eliot, has gotten uncountable backlashes via the internet for godfatherism in the Nigeria politics.

The legendary actor in an ongoing interview talked about Obaseki’s “Edo no be Lagos” slogan and slammed him for the slogan.

But the comments he made in the interview didn’t went down well with many Nigerians as they have taken to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to blast the sitting Lagos State House of Assembly member.


Thus, in the interview, Desmond admitted that he is a product of godfatherism.

Discussing Obaseki’s aim to end godfatherism in Edo, he disclosed that loyalty is significant.

Speaking further, he reveal that If not for godfatherism Obaseki wouldn’t be in the place he is today.

Then, in defence for godfatherism, he added that a godfather cares after the interest of his people.

These remarks have not gone down well with Nigerians.
