EFCC apprehends man who boasted about hacking more than 1000 customers’ bank details and BVN in Lagos state


Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Lagos Zone have nabbed one Ihebuzo Chris for alleged internet stalking.

Chris, a suspected hacker, was apprehended as of late in Benin City, Edo State, following a petition got by the Commission from the bank he purportedly hacked.


As it was reported, Chris had, in an online clip, professed to be in possession of some personal information and Biometric Verification Numbers of over 1000 customers of the bank, which he claimed to have gotten in the wake of hacking into its data base from his personal laptop computer.

However, items recovered from the suspect, at the point of capture, include the laptop, which he used to upload the said circulated clip, a printout of more than 2000 bank details, including the BVN of customers of the bank, 12 blank ATM cards suspected to be for perpetration of his supposed criminal activity.

He would be charged to court as soon as investigations are finished up.
