Nigerians via social media have condemned President Buhari over the live national transmission on the agitation in the nation in relation to the #EndSARS protest.
President Buhari had on Thursday, 22nd October, 2020, at 7 pm addressed the nation on a broadcast live transmission. In the 13 minutes length broadcast, President Buhari addressed key issues in the country, one of which is how Nigerians “misconstrued” the “promptness” with which the government acted on the End SARS demands “as a sign of weakness.”
He included that “human lives have been lost” and properties have been destroyed “in the name of the End SARS protests” and further asked the adolescent to end all protest activities.
In response to the President’s speech, Nigerians via the social media condemned the speech as nothing but a pre-recorded video session. A few users further reprimanded the speech for absolutely disregarding the Lekki mass shootings.
