One Nigerian “Queer” man as of late stormed the streets during the progressing #EndSars peaceful protest, to protest for the lives of gay individuals.
Well, the young man, whose real name is Matthew Blaise, was spotted holding a placard with the inscription – “Queer lives matter”, while explaining how he always gets embarrassed for looking femme.
Nonetheless, he noted that it’s not a crime to be queer (Gay/lesbian), including that he always get harassed by police men for being queer and looking femme.
In his words via IG...
“Even in the #EndSars protest, Queer lives matter. Queer people are harassed, assaulted and killed by the Nigerian police for being Queer. I have been in that situation. A lot of my Queer siblings too.”
