EndSARS: Thugs set police station ablaze in Imo state

Unidentified thugs on Wednesday, 21st October, set the Nworubi Police Divisional Headquarters in Mbaitoli LGA ablaze in continuation of the progressing protest against police brutality and extra-judiciary killings across the nation.

Mr Ikeokwu Orlando, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

In his words...

”Yes I can confirm to you that Nworubi Police Division was set on fire this afternoon by hoodlums.

“No arrest has been made yet, but police authorities have opened an investigation into the matter.”

It could be recalled that Governor Hope Uzodinma had on Tuesday, 20th October, ordered a 24 hours curfew in Imo to halt the ongoing peaceful protest in the state.

Protesters overlooked the curfew and embarked on a protest in various locations of the state.

The state’s Fire Service was mobilised by the state government to quench the heavy fire.
