The Ikoyi Correctional Centre is at present ablaze, gunshots are being heard and there’s an alleged endeavored jailbreak.
Videos shared via the web shows smoke surging from parts of the centre while
prisoners are seen running.
Also, it was learnt that the prison authorities had quickly notified the police and the military authorities for reinforcement.
Media character, Toke Makinwa who lives in Ikoyi tweeted that she can hear gunshots from her bedroom and that individuals ought to be protected.
“Ikoyi is on fire, hearing sounds of gunshots from my bedroom, I hear ikoyi prison has been broken in to and there is Chaos around Awolowo road. Be safe guys #Endsars”

Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State, said the reason for the fire couldn't yet be determined but police officers had been deployed in the prisons.
