One video that shown the moment Lagos lawmaker, Desmond Elliot purportedly called for social media regulation has at long last leaked.

It could be recalled that we reported earlier that the lawmaker was dragged via Twitter by Nigerians for allegedly supporting an anti-social media bill.

In the heat of the Twitter backlash, the actor cum politician quickly took to his official Instagram page and debunked the allegation of being one of those pushing for an anti-social media bill to stifle free speech.

Reacting to the lawmaker’s disavowal of the allegation, a Twitter influencer and medical doctor, identified as Dr Olufunmilayo challenged him to let the entire world see the video of what he said about social media regulation.

It could also be recalled that multi award winning Nigerian singer, Davido had also reacted to the said news, wherein he concurred that Desmond Elliot is a proof that a youth could be President and still fail Nigerians.

Well as it stands now, Nigerians have at last dug out video of the lawmaker speaking about the need to do something about social media before it ruins the country.

“In the next five years, there will be no Nigeria if we don’t act now”, he said in the video.

Desmond Elliot also griped bitterly about how kids cursed politicians on social media without bit of respect. “Culture has gone”, he cried out.

Speaking further, he took advantage to plead with Nigerian celebrities, social media influencers and motivational speakers to “tune down on the hate narrative.”
