The Government of Enugu state has debunked the rumor of building a phone-charging station for the GburuGburu community area in the state capital.
Pictures of a phone-charging booth in the name of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi went viral via the internet earlier yesterday and it attracted reactions across the country.
Well, Engr Abel Uchenna Nwobodo, the chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state, nevertheless, denied the story as misleading.
In a statement, Nwobodo expressed completely, “The governor and his administration are not involved in the project.
“The said project is a private initiative of an illustrious son of Nara in Nkanu East LGA as a means of contributing to the development of the community, which has nothing to do with any government.”
The Chairman, therefore, called on the general public to overlook the rumor as it was meant to misinform and mislead.
