In one interesting report, a suspected car snatcher who was arrested gave an awkward reason why he steals.
This said car thief is a 23-year-old student of student of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka identified as Dare Williams.
His recent arrest came after stealing a car from a hailing service driver. As per him, he became an armed robbery due to the fact that he wanted some money so badly just to pay Davido or Runtown to feature on his own album.
The arrest was affirmed by (CP) Hakeem Odumosu the Lagos state Commissioner of Police and according to a police report, the young man is an upcoming artiste.
The report also alleged that he was lured by his friend whose name was also revealed as Bethel Chukwuocha to snatch the Toyota Corolla car from the driver.
While speaking to the press after their arrest, the Commissioner stated;
“They used knife and some substances suspected to sedatives to weaken the victim. The suspects claim to be students of the Federal College of Education, Yaba-Lagos.
The suspected were arrested by police detectives attached to Sabo Police Station, Lagos State, on Tuesday, December 22, at Sabo while on their routine patrol. The detectives recovered the car and the knife used for the operation from them.
The case is under investigation and will be transferred to the State CID for further investigation.”
