“Ayra’s song was recorded before MIL” – Don Jazzy shuns troll who alleges new Mavins record signee sampled Wizkid’s song

Renowned Nigerian music executive and Mavins records boss, Don Jazzy has addressed the topic about his latest female signee, Ayra Starr of sampling songs from Wizkid’s MIL album.

A few hours after Don Jazzy announced the new signee and released her 1st song, an internet troll alleged that Ayra copied Wizkid’s Sweet one track.

In the troll’s words...

“What did I just hear??? This new Mavin girl sampled sweet one??

She no evn allow the song age small. Later dem go open their mouth say no be Wiz inspire them….we dey wait.”

Then, in response, the Mavins record label boss, cautioned the narrative as false, that in fact, Ayra Starr’s song was recorded before MIL.

In his words;

“First things first Wiz is definitely an inspiration to every artist from Nigeria in the last decade and beyond but this particular sample is from The website Splice. Almost every new producer gets samples from there. Ayra’s song was recorded way before MIL came out too sir.”
