The US president-elect, Joe Biden, has called on the Senate to continue the process of impeaching the outgoing President Trump after the House of Representatives historically voted in favour of removing the President.
It could be recalled that the House of Representatives impeached Trump for allegedly inciting his supporters to riot at the Capitol building.
Now, reacting after the impeachment, Biden tweeted, “Today, in a bipartisan vote, the House voted to impeach and hold President Trump accountable. Now, the process continues to the Senate—and I hope they’ll deal with their Constitutional responsibilities on impeachment while also working on the other urgent business of this nation.”
