A wedding souvenir that shows the marriage between an elderly Nigerian man believed to be a grandfather and a teenage girl believed to be less than 15 years has sparked outrage among many Nigerians on social media.
The picture of the couple’s wedding calendar shared by a Twitter user revealed that their wedding took place on 22nd January, 2021 in the Northern part of the country.
Reacting to the picture, social media users condemned the Islamic clergy who approved of the marriage and said that the wedding is unworthy of celebration.
