Popular Nigerian comic actor and comedian, Mr Macaroni, has shared a video narrating his encounter with the Nigerian Police after he was nabbed together with other protesters.
It could be recalled that the comedian and others persons were arrested by the police for staging #OccupyLekkiTollgate which was held to register displeasure following the reopening of the tollgage.
As per the comedian, he and other individuals were maltreated, stripped naked and brutalized. He added that the screens of his phones were also smashed. Macaroni said he will visit the hospital for a complete checkup after the traumatic experience.
In his words:
“I’m going to the hospital for a complete check. I have bruises all over. Them beat me, them beat me well, them say I go get sense.”
“The government is responsible for protection. So, let me ask, you had over 200 policemen out there yesterday, and you want to tell me you could not guarantee a peaceful protest if there was going to be one? It shows that you guys are irresponsible, all of you are irresponsible.”
Macaroni slammed all allegations that he had been bribed to support the opposition so that he could speak against the government. He appreciated the lawyers and those who helped in his release.
Watch the video he shared via his official Instagram page today, February 14.
