JUST IN: FG Extends NIN-SIM Integration By 8 Weeks


The Federal Government of Nigeria, on Tuesday, 2nd February, announced that the ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) and Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) integration exercise has been extended by 8 weeks.

It said the new deadline was now April 6, 2021.
 
The Director, Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission, Ikechukwu Adinde, who disclosed this in a statement he signed alongside Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications, National Identification Management Commission, said the extension was conveyed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami during the meeting of Ministerial Taskforce on NIN-SIM registration on the 1st of February, 2021.

As per the statement, Pantami said the extension is to give Nigerians and legal residents more time to integrate their NIN with SIM.
