JUST IN: Niger State Governor Orders Immediate Closure Of Boarding Schools In Crises Areas


The Gov. of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, has directed the immediate closure of all boarding schools in areas dominated by bandits.

The Governor, who gave the order after a brief meeting with heads of security agencies in the state at the Government House, Minna on Wednesday, said the action is necessary to save the life of the students as the areas have been overrun by bandits.

Bello also appealed to President Buhari to assist the state in the bid to contain the situation he described as precarious.

It could be recalled that unknown gunmen attacked Government Science College, Kagara in the early hours of Wednesday (today) and abducted an unknown number of students.

A student was also reportedly killed during the attack.
