The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has instructed all banks and financial institutions to close all the accounts of cryptocurrency traders.
Well, this was contained in a letter from the central bank to all the banks across Nigeria which is signed by the Director of Banking Supervision, Bello Hassan.
And this comes after the CBN initially warned these banks and the Nigerians on the risk associated with transactions in cryptocurrency.
As per the central bank, cryptocurrency exchange in Nigeria now prohibited adding that accounts of traders who deal in cryptocurrency should be shut down.
It went forward to add that any bank or financial institution that breaches this directive will face severe consequences.

As expected, this didn't go down well with Nigerians as they trooped to the social media to react to the new development, they slammed the Federal Government for their inability to fight corruption in the country but fight it's youth.
