Nigerian music maestro, Wizkid has said in a recent Instagram Live session that when he burst onto the mainstream, he was the youngest in the Nigerian music industry and this spurred him to reach for greatness.
The ‘Smile’ crooner who is now regarded as one of the finest on the African continent, stated that he wasn’t ready to take no for an answer as he made sure his relatively young age at that time will send a subtle message to others that he was ready to take on the challenge.
In his words;
“I would say it’s never taking no for an answer. When l started, I was the youngest in music… everywhere l go to then, l was pretty much the youngest. But I just didn’t take no for an answer and that has really helped in shaping me into the man that I’m today. When I think about it, I simply go for it.”
“That fuels me. I love it when people underestimate me because it motivates me to show them that l can.”
