Renowned Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage has stormed the popular photo and video sharing app, Instagram with some new and lovely tattoos.
The mother of one who took some time off social media returned a few of days ago with her interview with American top magazine ‘Allure’ but the interview was overshadowed by the frequent power cut at Tiwa’s end.
Now, reports indicates there was about 3 power cuts during the course of the live video interview with her interviewer who was in Ghana at that moment. The interviewer revealed the she had to apologize anytime the power goes off and comes back.
The sensational female music maestro in the interview spoke about her family and her career and how she is thriving in an industry dominated by males.
She said;
“I have a platform and I’m digging more into my responsibility for younger people,” she says. . When I started my career I wasn’t embracing who I was fully yet because I was just trying to crack into the market,” she says. “My first two singles were very American and it wasn’t very African. But then, as time went on, I just started seeing how powerful my platform was and how mothers would say, ‘My little girl really looks up to you."
Speaking further, she also talked about how she wanted to bleach her skin at the age 14 or 15 years as she felt insecure with her black skin at that tender age.
She added;
”I actually did try to bleach my skin when I was about, I think 14 or 15 years. Even now I have patches on my back. My mom was cleaning my room and saw the cream that I used to mix with lemons. She wasn’t angry. it was more her disappointment. So I stopped but I was always insecure about being dark.”
Well, Tiwa Savage has gotten for herself some fresh tattoos on her right hand as she shares the making of the tattoos via her verified handle on Instagram.
