“I’ll Rather Die Than Surrender My Land To Fulani” – Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom Tells President Buhari

The Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom, has reiterated his commitment to fighting the Fulanis with the last drop of blood left in him.

The Governor has earned a reputation as being one of the harshest critics of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government. He vowed never to surrender any land to Fulanis in the state. Ortom intimated that he would rather lose his life than give in with his fight against the Fulani for land in the state.

Ortom made his submission when he received a delegation of the Medecins Sans Frontieres, popularly known as Doctors without Borders in Markudi, the state capital on Tuesday.

He said, “Our people are dying, our women, mothers are being raped, our children can’t go to school, they are suffering.

“These criminals, they display themselves on social media, claiming they are here for an agenda to drive our people away and take over their land and also kill them.

“And they are here courtesy of the Federal Government but for me, if they come, then I’m ready to die rather than to surrender my land to Fulani men. If God didn’t protect me, then I need no help from anybody.”
