The Lagos state commissioner of police has ordered the arrest of a Twitter user, Omotoyosi, for tweeting a false rape allegation.
Omotoyosi, had taken to the microblogging platform on Thursday to cry wolf over rape and kidnapping.
She tweeted that she was being kidnapped and raped, that not being enough, she also released a house address and phone numbers.
Shortly after her tweet, thousands of Nigerians on social media were calling the number. Due to the several calls and threats from the public, Omotoyosi released a video to debunk her viral tweet and said she was joking.
She has already been arrested by Nigerian police officers and will be charged for disturbing public peace.
