Oscars rejects Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo movie


Popular Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan’s newly released movie, Anikulapo has been disqualified from the nomination list of the Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars.

Dickson101 reports that despite the global reception that Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo has received since its release, the Academy Awards does not deem it worthy to make its nomination list.

The Academy Awards, better known as the Oscars, are awards for artistic and technical merit in the American and international film industry. The awards are regarded by many as the most prestigious, significant awards in the entertainment industry worldwide.

Expressing his disappointment on his Instagram page moments ago, Kunle Afolayan wrote “I am so pleased and delighted that the whole world has decided to tag ANIKULAPO film a masterpiece even though the Nigeria Oscar selection committee think its not worth submitting for the Oscars. Will keep doing my own thing”

The news has since upset many Nigerians and even global fans.

Tee music responded saying “Their validation isn’t needed baba mi, just keep doing your own things sir, it’s a masterpiece, I learned a lot watching this…. “
