Barcelona football legend player maker, Xavi Hernandez, has joined the battle against the deadly pandemic disease by donating the sum of 1 million euros to a hospital in the city.

Recently, Spain has confirmed a total of 124,736coronavirus cases and 11,744 deaths as of 6:30pm on Saturday. 

However, the 40-year-old head coach of Al-Sadd in Qatar gave the donation in response to the medical centre's request for more resources to aid its response to the crisis. 

He made the donation with his partner, journalist Nuria Cunillera, and disclosed in a social media video that the donation would go towards "purchasing sanitary equipment for professionals and patients."

Meanwhile, all footballing activities across the globe including the Spanish La Liga, Serie A ad the Premier League amongst other top leagues, have been stop because of the pandemic disease.

Others include, the NBA, NFL, Formula One, Athletics, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, French Ligue 1, and the Wimbledon Grand Slam which recently  joined the list of all other a-list sporting activities affected by the pandemic.
