COVID-19: The Ondo State Govt bans football viewing centers in its state

The Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has banned football viewing centers from operating in his State.

The governor gave the directives on Monday, 8th June, 2020, during the weekly media chat at the Government House in Akure.

Akeredolu expressed his annoyance at how the citizens were violating restriction orders and the subsequent rise in the cases of coronavirus in the state.

He, however, made it clear that his government would not relent in efforts to continue enforcing the restriction.

He said;

"All Premiership football viewing centres are hereby banned from operations until further notice. All religious organisations are to further ensure stringent implementation of the agreed guidelines for worship.

"All our earlier regulations about operations of the main and community markets will be revisited in which case law enforcement agencies and the Governor’s Task Force will ensure full enforcement."
