The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki resigns from APC after meeting President Buhari



The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), after meeting with the President, on Tuesday, 16th June, 2020.

The Gov. announced his resignation after meeting with the President Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Well, this development comes after the governor was disqualified by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) from re-contesting in the next governorship election.


However, few days before his disqualification, there was uncertainty about the sincerity of Obaseki’s university certificate, until the University of Ibadan came out to revealed that he studied classics in the school and graduated in 1979 with a 2nd Class Honours, Lower Division.

Thus, Obaseki is reportedly expected to declare his move to the Peoples Democratic Party any moment from now.
