#WizkidAt30: Nigerians Celebrate Wizkid As He Clocks 30th Today


As multi-award winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun better known as Wizkid clocks 30 today, 16th July, Nigerians have taken to their social media pages to celebrate him.

Thus, Tweeting with the hashtag, “WizkidAt30”, many Nigerians and fans across the country sent him a heartwarming messages, while pointing out his achievements in his music career.


The self-acclaimed Wizkid was born on Monday, 16th July, 1990, to a family of 6, then as at the age of 11, he started singing with the stage name “Lil Prinz” after which he formed a group “Glorious five,” a group he and a couple of his church friends formed.

However, in 2006, he changed his stage name from “Lil Prinz” to Wizkid leading to his first chance at the spotlight in 2009 where he featured on M. Abaga’s song “Fast Cars”.


And that song brought his voice to the attention of ace Nigerian singer, Banky W, who signed him to his record label, Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E).

The sensational singer rose to prominence after releasing "Holla at Your Boy", the lead single from his debut studio album Superstar in 2011.

Well, as he clocks 30 today, Nigerians have taken to their social media pages to celebrate him and his achievements so far.
