The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has agreed to call of its 8-month strike which has grounded academic activities in the public universities across the country.
Prof. Theophilus Lagi, the union leadership reached the consensus during a meeting in Abuja, on Friday, 27th November, 2020, with the federal government team led by Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment,
The federal govt additionally pledged to increase the total payment to the union to 70 billion naira.
Well, his is coming a week after FG accepted the demand by the union that they be exempted from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System.
