The controversy behind the 63rd Grammy Awards seems to be getting more weight as more to artists talks on why many artists were overlooked by the Recording Academy.
Well popular Canadian rapper, Drake has also joined the discussion in a more controversial manner as he calls for the Grammys to be replaced by a different award scheme that sees to recognized more ‘Black’ artistry.
The sensational rapper seems to support artists like fellow Canadian star The Weeknd who had an amazing year but was totally overlooked by the Recording Academy and the claims for the late rapper Pop Smoke to have gotten more nominations than the one he received.
Drake's remarks reflect longstanding criticism that the Grammys habitually snubs Black artistry. Sharing a post on his Instagram status, Drake pointed out Pop Smoke, Partynextdoor, Lil Baby, Popcaan and “too many missing names to even name” as artists overlooked by the Recording Academy this year.

I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones who come after.”
