The Oyo State’s Amotekun Commander, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (retd) has revealed that some hoodlums nabbed for terrorising residents of the state have been linked to some of the state Governor, Seyi Makinde’s aides.
Col. Olayinka made this shocking revelation while on Fresh FM programme on Tuesday, 5th January.
Dickson blog gathered that residents of Ibadan communities have been living in constant fears over attacks by thugs.
Col. Olayinka nonetheless disclosed that some senior aides of governor Makinde whom he refused to provide their names have been making frantic efforts, pleading with the agency to free some of the apprehended hoodlums linked to the attacks.
He said;
“Some people would come to plead that we should release those arrested. We arrested some in (Ibadan) North-East less than a week ago and one SA (Special Adviser) was running around begging us. He came and met me around NTA and I told him that we have handed them over to the police at Yemetu. I won’t mention the name. He is SA to the governor, some are chairmen, some are lawmakers who seek such a favour.”
When asked whether the governor’s aides were behind the unrest in the state capital, the Amotekun commander said;
“That is what we are saying.”
