Borussia Dortmund will be without their key man, Erling Haaland this weekend when they face Armenia Bielefeld in the Bundesliga.
The club’s head coach, Marco Rose has confirmed that striker will be missing the weekend game due to a hip-flexor injury.
The Norwegian striker is one of three players to be sidelined for the club after Thomas Meunier and Nico Schulz were also ruled out.
The news comes after his side suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat in the Champions League at the hands of Ajax Amsterdam.
“Thomas Meunier won’t be able to play, Nico Schulz has a torn hamstring and Erling Haaland won’t play and will be absent for a few weeks with a hip flexor injury,” Rose confirmed at his pre-match briefing.
Haaland had already suffered a similar injury earlier this season and Rose gave an insight on the extent of the damage.
“It is the same thigh, only a different place,” he said.
Haaland confirmed the injury via a tweet released on Friday afternoon.
“Time to focus on my recovery. I’ll be back stronger!” the tweet read.
Thomas Meunier is sidelined with a bruised foot while left back, Nico Schulz is out for two weeks due to a torn muscle.
