Dean Henderson Tips Leave Manchester United In January

The Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson is reportedly eyeing a January move away from the club as per 'The Times'.

The Englishman returned late to training due to COVID-19 and saw his spot taken by David De Gea.

The Spanish goalkeeper played 2nd fiddle for most of last season after being deemed error-prone by manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

The 24-year-old was promoted to 1st choice goalkeeper in the 2nd half of last season and proved instrumental in United’s second place finish – making 26 appearances across all competitions.

Nevertheless, Henderson has only featured once this season during the 1-0 loss to West Ham United in the Carabao Cup.

Henderson is understood to be sad with his new role at the club is seeking a move away from Old Trafford in January if he fails to get more minutes on the pitch.

De Gea has been a revelation for Manchester United this season with some stellar performances.

The latest being his heroics in the 3-2 dramatic comeback win against Atalanta in midweek.

It will be difficult to change Solksjaer choice between the sticks and Henderson may have to wait a bit longer to make the Number 1 position his own.

A loan move could be his best option at the moment after signing a new five-year contract with the club last season.

He appears to be in future plans of the club and it could only be a matter of time before he becomes a mainstay at the club with De Gea turning 31 in November.

Borussia Dortmund were rumoured to be interested in signing him last summer before they swooped Gregor Kobel.
Henderson will have no problems finding a high profile club but he will be wary of his chances for a first team berth in any club he chooses to join.
